INTEROPTO'99 REPORT

-PANEL PRESENTATION OF OPTICAL INTERconnection technology of the RWC Project-

RWCP participated in InterOpto'99, an international exhibition of the optical industry held in July 1999, and provided a panel presentation of optical interconnection technology derived from the RWC Project. The following is a brief report on the exhibition and our display.

2. Panel presentation of optical interconnection technology in the RWC Project

Brief review:

RWCP's booth welcomed approximately 550 visitors during four days. Based on reflection of last year's presentation which was our first presentation at the exhibition, each laboratory sent a researcher for the panel presentation, who spoke to visitors and answered questions. Additionally, the design and lighting of the booth were also made better. Within the RWC Project, optical interconnection is an important elementary technology that is essential for the development of seamless parallel and distributed computing systems (a high-speed parallel computer consisting of many interconnected PCs).
